Dr. Mitch Boyd

Dr. Mitch grew up down the road in Carol Stream, IL. There, he played competitive soccer from age 4 throughout college. This gave him an interest in sports injuries and rehab which caused him to attend Illinois State University as an athletic training major.

Hours

Mon, Wed, Fri: 7:30am - 6:30pm Tues, Thurs: 2pm - 6:30pm Sat: 8am - 12pm

While in school, Dr. Mitch discovered that he wanted more control over the diagnosis and course of patient care. He had also recently been to his first chiropractor for multiple head and knee injuries. Because of these things, he chose to pursue a career in the chiropractic field.

Dr. Mitch attended Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa on the recommendation of his chiropractor, Dr. Rinn. There, he spent most of his time learning multiple soft tissue techniques to better correct muscular injuries and chronic pain. The effectiveness of these treatments led him to focus most of his therapies on muscular pain.

He has taken multiple courses in Manual Adhesion Release and Instrument Adhesion Release, and he uses these procedures to improve range of motion and function in joints. By combining this treatment with advanced rehab progressions, Dr. Mitch has had great success decreasing chronic pain and muscular pain.

Muscular injuries are often underdiagnosed and undertreated. Dr. Mitch believes that when a person can move well they can live a pain free, functional life.

Dr. Brett L. Rappenecker, DC, ATC

Dr. Brett’s first experience with chiropractic care was when he was 5 years old. He came down with an ear ache that persisted for close to a month’s time. During this time, he was taken to a number of hospitals and pediatricians, to see if anyone could help alleviate his condition.

Hours

Tues: 1pm - 7:00pm Sat: 8am - 12pm

Through weeks of frustration, and several prescriptions, Brett’s father (Richard) suggested to his mother (Gina) that he be taken in to a chiropractor. Richard’s friend Dr. Jeff Pence had just graduated not long before from Palmer College of Chiropractic. He was taken in for an evaluation, to which Dr. Pence had noticed subluxations in his upper cervical spine. He was adjusted, and within 5 minutes, he was done screaming and crying, and fell right to sleep. The ear condition resolved completely soon after, well within a day’s time. Dr. Brett has been a life-long patient of Dr. Jeff Pence since then.

Dr. Brett attended Burlington High School in Burlington, IA and graduated in April 2002. He participated in Track and Field/Shot Put and played football. After graduation from high school, he attended Western Illinois University and received a Bachelor’s in Science with and emphasis in Athletic Training. At WIU, he was a student athletic trainer and provided athletic training coverage for all men’s and women’s teams throughout his time there. Dr. Brett also played club Lacrosse at WIU for 2 years.

After completing his time at WIU, Dr. Brett enrolled in the Doctor of Chiropractic program at Logan College of Chiropractic, and is an April 2012 graduate of Logan. During his time there, as side work, he provided athletic training coverage for numerous high schools and large tournaments. He has provided coverage for football all the way to tennis. He was a student intern for the Montgomery Health Center, located on Logan’s campus.

Dr. Brett believes that when you put your body in the best position it can possibly be in, the human body can overcome anything. Chiropractic has a strong influence to this philosophy. Other factors come into play as well, such as exercise and nutrition. Dr. Brett feels that his background in athletic training, chiropractic and nutrition, gives him a strong wellness based approach to his practice and philosophy.
